Retail

Safety culture in stores and in the operations that supply them, with attention to the role of local managers, supervisors and teams on different shifts.

Context

Safety decisions close to the people who serve and restock

Retail brings together customer service, restocking, receiving goods and support activities. In a single store, people with different roles share spaces and schedules. Peak periods and team changes alter this routine.

When there are many locations, corporate guidance needs to be understood by local leaders facing different realities. Reading the culture means looking at how these people set priorities, talk with their teams and respond to problems that come up in the work.

The relationships between stores, distribution and service providers also matter. Safety depends on decisions that cut across these areas, such as how activities are organized, the availability of resources and support for people starting in a new role.

Our work

Clarifying the role of local leadership

Depending on the scope, the assessment can involve different store formats and support sites. Listening helps identify common issues and situations that need specific treatment at each location.

Leadership training and follow-up draw on examples from the retail routine. The work can support the rollout of management tools and routines, checking how teams understand them and what adjustments are needed for them to be used.
